Christ in Christmas

Some see Him in signs, in wonders, in miracles. Some acknowledge Him, in awe of His Creation, the stars and the universe, nature – all of its beauty and splendor as well as its meticulous design, full of purpose and intent. And while these things speak in volumes of the Almighty, they are but whispers when you consider the fact that He Himself actually entered human history approximately two thousand years ago, interrupting our telling of the story of man and of life. Though born on a silent night, away in a manger, He came in like a wrecking ball, breaking down walls, wrecking the way we thought about things. Without His coming, His teachings, His ministry, His sacrifice, and His resurrection, the world would not know of God in a deeply intelligible or profoundly personal way, love would not be known in its truest and purest form, and we would all be alone, struggling against each other for a meaningless existence rather than living upwards with passion and purpose in communion with God and each other.
