When someone says that "life gets in the way," is it really life that got in the way? Did we really not know what was going to happen? Really? Did we not know what happens when we have unprotected sex when we're not ready to have a child? Or how were we to know the ramifications of taking that job that's demoralizing and sucks every bit of life and and joy and good from us? Sure, there are things that we have no or little control over, but a lot of times I hear this, it's for things we've done, results from choices we've made. And yet we blame 'life' or God or karma or someone else rather than the real cause—ourselves. 'Life' gets in the way, really, when we choose to abdicate our responsibilities, when we fall into patterns or into the conventions of society and culture, when we fail to take ownership of what we should know and how we should act. If you're walking blindly in life when you have eyes to see (but chose not to open them) and you bump into someone or hit a wall or go off a cliff, it is your fault. Open your eyes, see what's around you — see what's ahead of you. You have the freedom to choose, but understand that it's your choices, not 'life,' that's getting in the way of what God's wanting you to do. #lifehappens #ordoesit #creaturesofhabit #openyoureyes #ownership #ownit
